Game 2 Box Score

Senior Keith Carter’s (Newburyport, MA) two run go ahead single helped to cap a four run 5th inning as the Suffolk University Rams split with Keystone College on Saturday afternoon. After dropping game one, 10-1, Suffolk scored four times in the fifth inning to come from behind and take a 6-4 game two victory.

Carter was 2-3 with three rbi in the second game, and junior Marc Doyle (Whitman, MA) went 5 2/3 innings on the mound for his first victory. Sophomore Steve Healey (Norwood, MA) got out of a bases loaded jam in the 6th to earn the save for the Rams who won their second game on the young season.

Trailing 4-1, sophomore Pat Talbot (Madison, CT) drew a one out walk and sophomore Nick Travelyn (Manchester, NH) drew a walk. Both runners advanced on a passed ball and scored when senior Paul Vittozzi (North Reading, MA) drove them in with a single. Carter then put the Rams ahead for good with his two-out single. The Rams would tack on another run in the top of the seventh when Carter again singled home a run to put the Rams up 6-4.

Junior Donald Reese (Shippensburg, PA) hit a three run homer in the 2nd for the Giants.
Keystone College took game one of the double header, 10-1. Senior Brett Repard (Hughesville, PA) retired the first 14 hitters he faced as he pitched a complete game two-hitter. Esteban Meletiche and Eric Groff each hit home runs for the Giants who banged out 13 hits in the game. Groff was 3-4 in the game and Ben Fish, Ray Jackson, and Josh Hinkle each had two hits apiece.

The double header wraps up Keystone College’s trip as they head back north to Pennsylvania. Suffolk will take on Rowan College (NJ) tomorrow at 4:00 pm.
