Molly O'Mara Fillmore Named Assistant Commissioner

BEVERLY, Mass. – Massachusetts native Molly O'Mara Fillmore has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference's Assistant Commissioner, Communications, it was announced by Commissioner Patrick Colbert on Wednesday.

In this role, O'Mara Fillmore will oversee the league's external communications. She will manage media and public relations, digital content strategy and execution and organizational storytelling and promotion, in conjunction with the commissioner and the member institutions.

"Our Conference substantially improves with the addition of Molly to our staff " Colbert said. "She comes to the Conference after working at the highest levels of our industry and has been a proven leader and strategic thinker in this space. I am confident that Molly will have an immediate impact with our membership as we work to enhance our external strategies and brand moving forward."

Most recently, O'Mara Fillmore was the communications lead for USA Swimming, the nation's premier national governing body, the University of Missouri football program and head coach Eliah Drinkwitz.

Spanning her career, she has coordinated participant media efforts for nine college football bowl games and served as on-campus media coordinator for six NCAA Championships, two SEC Championships and one Pac-12 Championships event.

O'Mara Fillmore worked at her alma mater, the University of Massachusetts, on campus and in athletics for more than five years. She was the associate director for external relations at the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship (September 2017-February 2021), managing communications, marketing, events and constituent relations.

As UMass' Associate Director of Athletics for Communications and Public Relations (August 2015-July 2017), she oversaw all areas of communications, including department messaging, media relations, digital strategy and execution, graphic design and video production while serving as the communications lead for the football program and head coach Mark Whipple.
