90 Rams Receive CCC Winter/Spring All-Academic

CCC RELEASE | CCC ALL-ACADEMIC HISTORY 

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk was once again well-represented on the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Academic Team list as there were 90 Rams were recognized among the 894 student-athletes that received Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference nod, the league office announced. 

In order to be recognized as a member of the CCC Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore status.  

Suffolk's 90 student-athletes hail from the blue-and-gold's baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's golf, men's and women's hockey, softball men's tennis and men's and women's track & field teams. 

The 90 individuals ranked the fourth-most institution wise along with Roger Williams. Endicott topped the list with 144 honorees with Salve Regina (98) and Nichols (95) taking second and third, respectively. For the complete 2022-23 CCC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team, click here.  

When broken down by sport, baseball saw the largest number of distinctions handed out with 123 student-athletes from the diamond. Anthony Del Prete's squad made up nine of that number 

Shana Cote was one of 15 student-athletes who scooped up an academic accolade on top of a league major award women's hockey's graduate student skated her way to CCC Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive campaign.  

In addition to the major award winners there were also 181 student-athletes who picked up an all-conference award including 18 from Suffolk (six first-team, five second-team and seven third-team).
