BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk set a record-number of student-athletes acknowledged for their work inside the classroom as 63 Rams were among the 767 individuals across the Commonwealth Cost Conference (CCC) to garner a spot on the CCC Fall Academic All-Conference Team, the league announced Thursday.

To be recognized as a member of the CCC Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) and must also have attained sophomore status. The league's all-academic team was split by semester in 2012-13.

Suffolk's 63 student-athletes represent the Rams' men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball team. The 63 individuals recognized are the most for the blue-and-gold for the fall semester, surpassing last year's total of 56 and the 48 inaugural honorees in the fall of 2020. Of the sports that Suffolk sponsors, women's soccer saw the most honorees with 152 student-athletes. Of that total, Suffolk's squad accounted for 18, the most of any Rams' team.

The blue-and-gold's women's cross country team had a dozen student-athletes take home the feat, with the men's soccer team and men's cross country squad also with double digit honorees with 11 and 10, respectively. Women's volleyball was represented by seven student-athletes and five women's tennis players earned a place on the list.
