Suffolk Twirler to Represent Team USA

BOSTON – Suffolk University featured twirler Morgan Torre is taking her talents internationally.

Torre, a rising senior at the University, has been selected to represent Team USA and the Rams, at the first International Baton Twirling Federation's (IBTF) Nations Cup World Championship in Liverpool, England next summer, August 4-13, 2023.

"This has been my goal since I started baton twirling at the age of four," Torre said. "Seventeen years later, I have accomplished my dream and can't wait to represent Team USA next August."

Torre was one of nearly 2,000 baton twirlers to compete in individual events at the NBTA National Championships in July. There, she earned several top 10 finishes in a variety of events. Thanks to her performance at nationals, she qualified for two events, the 3-baton and artistic pairs, at the USA Nations Cup.

At Suffolk, Torre has been the University's feature twirler since arriving on campus in 2019. Here she has performed for Ram Nation at the men's and women's basketball games, won Suffolk's Got Talent as a freshman and performed at the Performing Arts Office (PAO) annual Springfest Showcase.

"I am incredibly thankful for all the support the athletic department at Suffolk has provided to me in my training," Torre said. "Having access to practice in the Ridgeway facility was invaluable while I was living in Boston, and helped me continue my year-long training."
