BOSTON – Suffolk Athletics entered cross over season and saw some stellar student-athlete performances and it showed in the Ram of the Week Twitter Poll vote that determines the best performer over a weekly span.
AND THE WINNER IS …
Shana Cote of the Suffolk women's hockey team grabbed the title by a landslide with 75 percent of the over 40 votes cast. The recognition comes on the heels of a six-point week by the senior forward that anchored the Rams to the program's first-ever 2-0-0 start.

In the season-debut, the Broomfield, Colorado product etched her name in the record book as the first-ever skater with a three-point performance on two goals and one assist in the first game of the season. Her two goals were both put away on social teams one on the power play and the other short-handed. Each is the first time a Suffolk skater netted a man-up and man-down goal in game one in the Rams' record book. A day later, she matched her season-opening three-point offensive output with an identical two-goal, one-assist night in a come-from-behind 5-4 win at UMass Boston. Both of her markers against the Beacons came on the power play.
For her efforts over opening weekend, the forward picked up Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week nods Monday afternoon.
RAM RUNNER-UPS
2ND – 9% - MATYAS CSIKI-FEJER – MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Matyas Csiki-Fejer claimed the CCC Crown as he cruised past his conference counterparts on the championship 8k course at Western New England and finished in 25:00, two minutes faster than his 191 competitors en route to CCC Runner of the Year status along with all-league honors.
2ND – 9% - GWEN KOZIARA – WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Gwen Koziara paced women's cross country to the CCC Championship as the freshman clocked a 6k time of 24:06 to finish fourth overall. She was the fastest Ram in Springfield, Massachusetts, and one of three to finish in the top 15 to pick up all-conference distinction.
4TH – 7% - MCKENNA KEOWEN – VOLLEYBALL
McKenna Keowen, a staple on the Ram of the Week ballot, averaged 4.18 kills and 3.55 digs per set in a 2-1 week for the Rams.
