Suffolk Athletics Announces Fan Policy for 2021-22

BOSTON – Suffolk University Athletics, following guidance from the University's health and safety protocols, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, plans to allow fans to attend home athletic contests during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year, Director of Athletics Cary McConnell announced Tuesday, Aug. 17.

Suffolk University is a community that places great emphasis on welcoming and engaging visitors and guests; having Ram Nation in the stands is a vital part of the student-athlete experience Suffolk University values. However, in response to COVID-19, the University has made adjustments to protect the health and safety of its community, its visitors and the broader public.

Fans, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, can attend games. They must be masked the entire time they are on campus, pursuant to institutional policy, and complete a health screening form at the security desk of each building upon arrival. This policy applies to home contests played on campus at the Ridgeway Building's Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court, as well as the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink and the Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

For outdoor outings, specifically at East Boston Memorial Park, fans are asked to respect COVID safety protocols. At this time, masks will not be mandated for fans no matter vaccinated status at outdoor venues.

Additionally, Suffolk Athletics is committed to live-streaming as many home contests as possible to allow members of Ram Nation and its opponents the ability to watch the blue-and-gold for free online.

Fans wishing to attend away games in which Suffolk teams are participating should visit the website of the host institution regarding their policies.

With the health and well-being of students and staff remaining the highest priority, it is important to acknowledge that these policies are written in pencil. Suffolk Athletics asks for flexibility and understanding of last-minute changes if they are to arise.

Any and all updates to fan policies and schedules will be shared with Ram Nation as early as they are known on the official site of Suffolk University Athletics, GoSuffolkRams.com, as well as the official social media channels on FacebookInstagram and Twitter
