Since Suffolk, you’ve moved into the work field. Could you describe your current occupation, what company you work for and the role you have?
I am a Data Science Consultant for Management Solutions, a Digital Transformation consulting firm specialized in quant-oriented projects.

How did you land your job?
After months of networking, I was able to get a referral through a connection with the Human Resources department, after a series of technical interviews and behavioral rounds I landed the position.

Is this your dream job?
My dream job is to own multiple technology-oriented companies someday, but this is a great stepping stone on my journey to get to where I want to be in the near future.

Describe your typical day.
My workday normally spams from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seamlessly integrating leading data analytics teams with hands-on project management, particularly now as I’m tackling a climate risk project aimed at enhancing sustainability and risk mitigation strategies. My mornings typically start with diving into data analysis, extracting actionable insights that inform our project's direction. As the day progresses, I coordinate with teams in Argentina, New York and Madrid, focusing on optimizing risk calculations and leveraging our findings for strategic initiatives. A significant part of my role involves guiding the development of automated solutions to improve efficiency and innovation.

What’s the most surprising part of your job?
The most surprising part of my job has been navigating the intricate dynamics of the corporate world, especially how data-driven strategies are conceived and implemented across different cultures. Despite my technical background, I'm continually learning the nuances of corporate decision-making and the pivotal role of communication in aligning diverse teams towards common goals.

What’s the biggest perk of your job?
Being able to collaborate with so many talented individuals from different backgrounds and nationalities.

What are you most proud of?
I take great pride in having led significant projects at just 23 years old

What is your favorite memory at work?
I remember my first work trip I did to Milan back in October of 2022, we were developing Machine Learning models for an insurance company … And it was the first time I was able to meet my peers in person after 4 months of working with them remotely. Overall, I had a great time that week and was also able to explore the city.

How did Suffolk prepare you for your role?
Suffolk University played a pivotal role in preparing me for my current position. The comprehensive curriculum in Data Science, including courses in Python, R, SQL, and machine learning, provided me with a strong foundation in essential tools and techniques. Moreover, my involvement as the President of the Business Analytics Club honed my leadership and communication skills, which are vital in collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting insights to clients.

What’s your favorite Suffolk memory?
I would say the commencement ceremony of my graduation. It was a beautiful day to commemorate four years of hard work, friendships and the end of a chapter of my life. I was very lucky to be surrounded by my loved ones on that day, who traveled from Madrid to see me graduate.

What advice do you have for current students?
My advice to current students is to embrace a growth mindset and continuously seek opportunities to expand your skillset. Engage in internships, projects, and extracurricular activities that align with your career interests. Networking is also key – connect with professionals in your field, attend industry events, and stay curious. Don't underestimate the power of collaboration and effective communication – these skills are just as crucial as technical expertise.

What made you choose Suffolk?
I was lucky to catch the eye of Coach Maddock at the time when I got recruited, once I was able to see the Business Analytics curriculum, the faculty and the opportunity to study at the heart of Boston … It was love at first sight.

Outside of work/school, what is your life like? I.E. family, kids, what do you do for fun, etc?
Outside of work, I enjoy a balanced life that revolves around various interests. I'm passionate about spending quality time with my friends, nurturing those relationships. When it comes to leisure, I'm an avid reader and enjoy staying active through sports and fitness activities. I'm also deeply involved in content creation, including hosting a podcast focused on data science and business analytics called “The Analytics Experience”. Additionally, I love exploring new places through travel and capturing moments through photography. Overall, maintaining a diverse set of interests keeps me energized and helps me achieve a well-rounded and fulfilling lifestyle.
