BOSTON – Suffolk volleyball makes one last trip in the regular season when it steps out of GNAC play one final time Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Rhode Island College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

Members of Ram Nation are asked to pull their weight in an effort to take the load off of those affected by breast cancer in Suffolk Athletics' Bench Press for Breast Cancer event Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk volleyball fell to Rivier in straight sets, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at the O'Connell Center. The Rams setback came by set scores 25-22, 25-13 and 25-21.

RAMS REVIEW
Suffolk split its tri-match on Saturday, placing its record at 18-9 on the season, which ties the program record for victories in a season, set in 1997 (18-3). Its 8-2 conference record also ties the 1997 squad, who went 8-1 in GNAC play.    

Hannah Fabiano has emerged as the offensive leader with 2.96 kps, of the 10.32 kps offense. Just behind the junior is her classmate Kayla Barbera, who adds 2.28 to the mix, while senior Sarah Mullahy brings in 1.79 kps. Harmony Johnson runs the offense with 8.15 aps from the setting position.  

Kenzley Bell and Dakhensey Marcellus lead the defensive effort with 3.64 dps and 3.55 dps, respectively. Stephanie Rheaume provides pressure at the net with 0.55 bps, trailed by Mullahy's 0.43 bps.  

ANCHORMEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Rhode Island College, who rides a four-match skid, enters Tuesday's tangle at 7-16 on the year.  

The Anchormen's 9.02 kps offense is paced by Amelia Murphy's 2.75 kps. Jacqueline Jutras sets the offense up with 6.48 aps.  

Samantha Borges paces the defense with 3.34 dps with Jenaeya Evans adding 2.62 dps to the cause. Angelly Polanco and Jessica Brielmaier stand tall at the net with 0.80 bps and 0.60 bps, respectively.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has not won in any of its seven meeting with Rhode Island College, 0-7.
  • The Rams and Anchormen meet for the first time since 2010, where the Anchormen walked away victors in straight sets, Sept. 5. 2010.
  • Five matches between the Rams and Anchormen have been decided by straight sets, with one match going to four sets, and one match going the distnace, all in favor of RIC.

Suffolk heads back home for the regular-season finale, a GNAC tri-match with Simmons and Saint Joseph's (Maine). Prior to the 11 a.m. match that features the Sharks and Rams, the blue-and-gold will honor the playing careers of its two graduating players: Kaleigh Khannaand Sarah Mullahy.
