BOSTON – A midweek match has Suffolk volleyball hosting the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) inside Regan Gymnasium Wednesday, Oct. 10. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk volleyball team closed out a tri-match Saturday afternoon with a non-conference straight set loss to the University of New England at Emmanuel's Jean Yawkey Center.

RAMS RUNDOWN
After splitting the tri-match on Saturday, Suffolk sits 4-12 on the year and 2-3 in GNAC outings. 

Suffolk relies heavily on its sophomores Hannah Fabiano and Kayla Barbera. The two anchor the Rams' 8.87 kps attack with Fabiano's 2.18 kps leading the way and Barbera's 2.10 kps falling in a close second. Barbera contributes heavily on defense as well with 2.39 dps, good for second on the squad.

Talia Lombardo has served as Suffolk's primary setter, handing out 7.20 assists per set. 

Dakhensey Marcellus is the leader on the defensive side as the libero averages 4.39 dps.

BLUE JAYS BREAKDOWN
St. Joseph (Conn.) snapped a two-match skid Monday night with a straight set victory over Anna Maria to improve to 8-9 on the season and 1-5 in conference contests. 

Aminah Tsonga's 2.22 kps lead the way for the Blue Jays' offense with Hannah Benson and Nina Lestrud providing 1.83 kps and 1.58 kps, respectively. Brenna Miller handles the setting duties, passing out 6.60 assists per set. 

The trio of Janell Molina (4.12 dps), Benson (3.02 dps) and Miller (2.47 dps) are St. Joseph's main defensive threats.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk owns an 11-4 series lead over St. Joseph (Conn.) dating back to 2003.
  • The Rams have won two straight versus the Blue Jays.
  • When playing in straight sets versus the Blue Jays, Suffolk is 6-3 and is undefeated (3-0) if the match is decided in four sets.
  • Five-set thrillers are also in favor of the Rams with the blue-and-gold boasting a 2-1 ledger in such meetings.

Suffolk hosts its final home tri-match of the season Saturday, Oct. 13 as Anna Maria and Curry stop by Regan Gymnasium. The Rams action gets underway at 12 p.m. versus the AMCATS and the day ends for the blue-and-gold at 4 p.m. against the Colonels.
