BOSTON – After hosting Colby Sawyer Friday, Oct. 21, the Suffolk volleyball team treks to Northfield, Vermont, Saturday, Oct. 22 for a GNAC tri-match at Norwich. The Rams will first take on Lasell at 2 p.m., before facing the hosts Cadets at 4 p.m.

The Suffolk women's volleyball team dropped its second straight GNAC contest in straight sets as the Rams fell at Anna Maria, 3-0, at the Fuller Center Wednesday night.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk (9-11) entertains the weekend in a need to win basis as the Rams are currently on the cusps of the GNAC tournament in ninth place with a 2-5 league ledger. Suffolk is one game behind Lasell (3-4) and one ahead of Norwich (1-6).  

Bridget Allison (1.87 kps), Talia Lombardo (1.63 kps) and Chidera Nwankwo (1.62 kps) provide the offensive spark for Suffolk with the sophomores equally contributing defensively. Lombardo (2.81 dps) pitches in on the reception, Nwankwo stands tall at the net (0.56 bps) and Allison adds to both efforts.  (0.59 bps, 2.32 dps).

CATCH UP ON THE CHARGERS
Colby Sawyer carries a 7-19 record into Regan Gymnasium Friday night. and the Chargers are coming off a straight set loss to Southern Maine.

The Chargers, who lost a straight set match versus Southern Maine Wednesday night, are led by Gabrielle Rodriguez' 1.93 kps with Naarah Cox (1.67 kps) and Courtney Murray (1.58 kps) adding to the offense. Olivia Goodrich (6.34 aps) and Elyssa Clairmont (6.23 aps0 command the offense, splitting time as Colby Sawyer's setter's. Defensively, Caroline McCoy is pacing the pack with 3.83 dps.

LOOK AT THE LASERS
Lasell (8-16, 3-4 GNAC) looks to carry moment off its sweep of Mount Ida into the weekend.  

Olivia Addington (3.37 kps) and Michele Canestro (2.47 kps) have been the go to's for the Lazers offensively. Taylor Tiezzi has set up Lasell's offense with 8.20 aps. Caitlyn Garcia's 5.30 dps leads the Lasers defensive effort with Maeghan Calzetta-Par adding 0.88 bps.

CATCH UP ON THE CADETS
Norwich enters play Saturday with a 5-12 overall record and a 1-6 conference mark after dropping back-to-back league matches in straight sets at Simmons and Rivier. 

Marissa Perrotti has led the Cadets attack with 1.69 kps while Ashley Nau (1.29 kps), Michele Zummo (1.25 kps) and Monika Schneider (1.23 kps) also contribute. Katie Crane (3.23 aps) and Emily Oliver (3.19 aps) split time as Norwich's setter. Nau and Courtney Quinn paced the Cadets at the net with 0.57 bps and 0.41 bps, respectively and Brianna Decker adds to the defensive effort with 3.56 dps.

Suffolk recorded its fourth sweep of the season Saturday versus Albertus Magnus, the most since the Rams notched five in 2014.

Suffolk concludes non-conference action at UMass Dartmouth Thursday, Oct. 27, before wrapping up the regular season with a home tri-match featuring Simmons and Saint Joseph (Conn.) Saturday, Oct. 29.
