BOSTON – Chidera Nwanko put together a career-night, but it was not enough as the Suffolk women's volleyball team fell to Wentworth in straight sets Tuesday night inside Regan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk played behind in each set, but was able to keep Wentworth on its toes with comebacks in each frame. The Leopards were able to hold off the Rams, however, to slide to their 10^th win of the season. 

Nwanko matched a career-high six kills with a career-best hitting clip of .417. The sophomore contributed four blocks, which were good for a season high. Bridget Allison added six kills of her town to go along with three blocks and three digs. Rachel Fancy and Liz Kerek split time setting up the Rams' offense with the junior and sophomore passing out eight digs apiece. Defensively the pair also had identical digs (5), but Kerek held the edge in kills with three compared to Fancy's two. 

Leah Rogoz led the Leopards with 12 kills. On the offensive side of the net Lillie Clark contributed 12 digs for Wentworth. 

SET ONE RECAP (25-17 Wentworth)

• Wentworth jumped out of first serve and rolled to a 9-0 lead.
• Suffolk cut the deficit to four, 15-11, to force a Leopards timeout.
• A kill from Allison kept Suffolk within striking distance, 17-13.
• Down the stretch, Wentworth outscored the Rams, 5-2, to take a 1-0 lead thanks to the 25-17 set win. 

SET TWO RECAP (25-18 Wentworth)

• After trading points to open the set, Wentworth surged to a 10-2 edge as Suffolk took time to talk things over.
• The Rams slowly chipped away at the Leopards lead and pulled within five, 12-7.
• That was as close as the blue-and-gold would get with Wentworth holding a six-point edge the remainder of the way en route to the 25-18 set win. 

SET THREE RECAP (25-16 Suffolk)

• A block from Allison and Jane Buckley tied the frame at 3-all.
• Wentworth rolled from there, building a 9-4 lead that quickly blossomed to 16-6 advantage.
• Suffolk could not rally out of its timeout as the Leopards went up by double digits, 21-10.
• The Rams used quick 2-0 spurts to make it a seven-point set, 22-15, but Wentworth used a pair of points of its own to seal the win.   

NOTEABLES
Chidera Nwankwo notched a career-high hitting percentage (.417) on six kills in 12 attempts with one error. The six kills match the sophomore's career best, while her four blocks were a season high.

Suffolk heads out on the road for the first time in two weeks when in travels to Milton, Massachusetts, Saturday, Sept. 20 for a tri-match at Curry. The Rams will take on the Colonels at 11 a.m., before facing Pine Manor in a rematch at 1 p.m.
