Volleyball Wins First Game of 2014 With 3-0 Win Over Johnson St.

The Suffolk University Women's Volleyball won their first match of the 2014 season with a 3-0 victory over Johnston State University on Saturday afternoon as part of the David J. Hildebrandt Invitational hosted by Newbury College.

Freshman Krista Iacobucci (Rocky Hill, Conn.) led Suffolk offensively with 11 kills on the afternoon and three service aces.

Suffolk took all three sets in consecutive scores; 25-16, 25-22 and 25-13.

Junior Yabriela Perez (Dorchester, Mass.) finished the afternoon with a team-high seven service aces, while also posting a game-high 16 digs in the three games.

Freshman Jane Buckley (Plaistow, N.H.) recorded seven kills in the game, while freshman Liz Kerek (Holbrook, Mass.) had five kills in the game.

The win moves to Suffolk to a 1-5 overall record on the season. The Rams will be back in action on Tuesday evening as they host Mass. Maritime Academy in Suffolk's first home game of the season at the Regan Gymnasium at 7:00pm.
