Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match on Saturday

The Suffolk University Volleyball team came away with two victories in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon hosted by Anna Maria College.

Sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) combined for 23 kills in the two matches as the Rams moved above the .500 mark to a 7-6 overall record on the season.

Brillaud had 12 kills in the Rams sweep over Anna Maria as part of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup. Suffolk swept the three matches by scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-21.

The Rams also got a boost with the return of junior Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) who played in her first action of the season, combing for 18 kills in the two games.

In a close battle with Castleton State in their first match, Suffolk was victorious in a tiebreaker in game one 26-24, before winning game two, 25-23 and winning game three 25-21. Brillaud and Hillman combined for 20 kills in the match to lead the Rams, while senior Jennifer Duston (Nashua, N.H.) had 17 setting assists, and sophomore Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) chipped in with another 13.

The Rams will be back in action on Tuesday evening with a GNAC match against Mount Ida College as they host the Mustangs at the Regan Gymnasium beginning at 7:00pm.
