BOSTON – Suffolk women's tennis is set to entertain Western New England in a Conference of New England (CNE) showdown Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Belmont Hill.

Suffolk women's tennis dropped a 5-2 Conference of New England (CNE) contest to the University of New England Tuesday afternoon at the Blue Cyclone Complex.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk is 0-7 on the year and 0-4 in CNE contests. 
  • The Rams are coming off a 5-2 setback at the University of New England. 
  • Thu Nguyen has been a staple as the blue-and-gold's ace this season and is 1-6 on the year. She is one of three Rams to have a singles win this year along with Elizabeth Lassner (1-6), who has played exclusively in the fourth spot, and Jaylin Hills (1-2), who has played only in the sixth slot. 
  • Nia Bebb and Lassner are the only doubles tandem with a victory on its record this season. The junior, freshman duo collected a win on court two at UNE.  

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS

  • Western New England brings a 1-5 overall mark and 1-4 CNE ledger into Saturday. 
  • The Golden Bears only win of the season came in sweeping fashion at Curry Sept. 20.
  • WNE has lost three in a row and will face Rhode Island College Thursday. 
  • Emma Miller has held down the Golden Bears top singles court and is 1-5 on the year. 
  • Sydney Shepard is the only WNE singles player with multiple victories at 2-4 split btween courts two (0-1) and three (2-3). 
  • In doubles, Miller and Malina Dinis have partnered up for a 2-3 record as the No. 1 team.
  • Kayla Ledoux and Yasmine Giacalone have paired up for an identical 2-3 ledger split between courts two (0-1) and three (2-2).  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2005, Suffolk is 1-6 all-time against Western New England. 
  • The Rams defeated the Golden Bears for the first time in program history a year ago, 5-2, Oct. 5, 2024. 
  • Suffolk is 0-2 when hosting WNE. 
  • There has been one shutout int eh series. The 9-0 triumph belongs to the Golden Bears and came Sept. 16, 2006.
