Facing the challenges of not only a young roster, with no upperclassmen, but a small squad as well, with just six student-athletes Suffolk had its work cut out for itself.

At first, personnel was the problem with defaults landing in the Rams’ opposition favor through the first five matches.

With a full team, Suffolk ventured to Albertus Magnus determined. That optimism paid off as the Rams swept doubles play before putting up the first pair of singles points on the board with victories on courts five and three, respectively, to seal their first victory of the season.

Momentum faded quickly after the win over the Falcons and Suffolk’s hopes of playing for GNAC glory slowly slipped from the Rams’ grasp.

At the end of the September that triumph over Albertus was the lone mark in the win column for Suffolk. In hopes to play for GNAC glory one final time, with the Rams moving to the Commonwealth Coast Conference in 2020, the blue-and-gold had powerhouse Johnson & Wales and newcomer Eastern Nazarene left on the schedule.
