Junior Abby Spitler (Gaithersburg, Md.) had a goal and an assist as the Eastern Nazarene College Lions topped the Suffolk University Rams, 3-0 in non-conference Women's Soccer on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Jules Speno (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) scored the game's first goal twenty minutes into the contest as the Lions took advantage of a Suffolk turnover deep in their own. Spitler would create the turnover before setting up Speno for her team leading fifth goal of the season.

Four minutes later, Spitler and the Lions would answer again with some insurance. Spitler managed to work her way through the Suffolk defense for a breakaway before knocking her shot in to the left of the goal from five yards out for the 2-0 edge.

Eastern Nazarene would control the majority of play offensively in the second half as they outshot Suffolk 14-4 in the period.  Junior Lauren Kett (Norwich, England) put the game at the sixty-six minute mark as she netted the Lions' third goal of the game. Kett knocked in a rebound that came off the foot of freshman Katherine Lawrence (Marlborough, Conn.), whose initial shot hit off the crossbar.

Suffolk came out quick early in the first half as they put out three shots in the opening fifteen minutes of play. Sophomore Lauren Spencer (Tewksbury, Mass.) and senior Gabrielle Balestrier (Mohnton, Pa.) were both alone in front of the Lions' goal, but neither could put the ball past sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Farley (Westminster, Mass.).

Farley made five saves in the contest for her second shutout on the year.

Junior Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.) stopped eight shots for Suffolk in goal.

The Lions held a 24-8 edge in shots in the game.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday afternoon. Eastern Nazarene will host Wheelock College at 12:30pm. Suffolk opens up their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) schedule with a noon match at Emmanuel College
