Suffolk entered its fourth varsity season determined to defend its Northeast Women’s Golf Conference (NWGC) crown and threepeat as New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) champs.

A four-player roster faced obstacles and stiff competition along the way with a pair of two-day events preceding the championship courses.

After taking second at the Husson Tournament at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course, the Rams finished fourth a week later at the CORTACA Northeast Invitational in Cortland, New York, at the Cortland Country Club.

Those pair of events prepped the blue-and-gold for the first-ever two-day NWGC Championship.

The Rams ventured to the Colonie Country Club in Voorheesville, New York, to tee off and add more titles to the young program’s resume.

Suffolk claimed third at the second-ever NWGC Championship with a two-day score of 771, seven strokes behind the runner-up Utica.

Suffolk wanted to build momentum off its podium finish at the conference championship and continue its regional run, however, the Rams were dethroned at the fourth annual NEIGA Championships at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts October 20-21.

Despite a standout showing by Brooke Chapman, who led after the first day on the course and finished as the individual runner-up, the Rams rounded out the four-team field for the first time in program history with a two-day card of 792. Bates (764), Husson (766) and Johnson & Wales (790) upstaged Suffolk at the annual meet for the first time.

The blue-and-gold had the chance to avenge its fall ending throughout the three-outing spring schedule that featured a tri-meet and a dual meet with the Wildcats of JWU, but those plans were abandoned with the cancellation of the spring season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
