BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball opens Conference of New England (CNE) play on Tuesday, Dec. 2, as the Rams make the short trip to Wentworth for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off.

LEAGUE DEBUTS

  • Suffolk is 18-13 (0-2 NEWAC / 17-8 GNAC / 1-3 CNE) all-time in its first conference contest of the season. 
  • Under Ed Leyden, the Rams sport an 18-12 record in its first league outing of a year. 
  • In its conference debut, the blue-and-gold is 10-4 at home, 7-7 on the road and 1-0 at a neutral site. The location of the league openers for the NEWAC is unknown. 
  • Suffolk has gone into overtime in its first conference contest of the year once, a double overtime 62-57 triumph over Johnson & Wales Jan. 7, 2012. 
  • The blue-and-gold looks to begin its CNE calendar in the win column for the first time since an 86-69 win at Gordon Nov. 29, 2023.     
  • Suffolk will meet Wentworth its CNE opener for the first time in program history.

  • Wentworth enters conference play at 0-6 overall after a 75-41 loss at Wellesley last Tuesday. In CNE action, the Leopards are 0-1 after it fell at Gordon, 65-59. 
  • Taylor Garabedian anchors the Leopards with 14.2 points and 13.0 rebounds per game, ranking 14th in NCAA Division III in rebounding.
  • Mia Luna Zayas follows closely with 13.7 ppg, while Elise Ayer adds 7.8 ppg and 7.5 rpg.
  • Tita Rana chips in 5.8 ppg and leads the team with 4.3 assists per game.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Tuesday's matchup marks the 42nd meeting between the Suffolk and WIT.
  • Suffolk holds a commanding 32-9 lead in the all-time series.
  • The Rams have won 14 straight, including last season's 64-52 meeting on Feb. 15 at Smith Court.
