STANDISH, Maine – No. 10/8 Saint Joseph's (Maine) was too much for the fourth-seeded Suffolk women's basketball team as the Rams fell to the top-seeded Monks, 84-51, Thursday night in the GNAC Semifinals at the Harold Alfond Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk did not find its offensive grove from the get-go, which allowed the red-hot Monks to build a 13-point, 21-8, advantage after the first 10 minutes.
The Rams cut the margin back to seven, 25-18, as Allie Lopes converted a layup at the midway point of the second stanza. St. Joe's scored eight straight points to regain the 13-point margin that blossomed into a 17-point cushion, 42-25, at the intermission.
For the second quarter on the night, SJC limited Suffolk to just eight points and put in 19 of its own to stretch its advantage to 61-33.
The distance was too much ground for the Rams to make up as the Monks put on cruise control to coast to the 84-51 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Lopes led the offense attack with a 13-point performance to go with four assists, four boards and one steal.
- Jenni-Rose DiCecco had an all-around night with seven caroms, six points, five helpers and one steal.
