BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball team remained in the win column Tuesday night as the Rams bested Regis, 70-56, in GNAC action in Regan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk grabbed a 5-2 edge early and see-saw action followed the remainder of the first quarter and the Rams' early advantage kept the hosts ahead, 12-11, at the end of the first 10 minutes.  

The Rams controlled the opening portion of the second stanza and gained a seven-point cushion, 24-17. The Pride picked up the pace from there scoring six straight points. That stretch turned into a 14-3 visitor's run that ended the half and sent Suffolk into the locker room down 31-27.  

The break paid off for the Rams who came out red hot from the intermission, outscoring the Pride, 13-2, to take a 40-33. Suffolk hung onto its composure and built an 11-point cushion, 46-35, at the midway point on a set of freebies from Alexis Hackett.  

Regis did not remain out of reach the rest of the way, however, as the Pride climbed back into things and pulled within seven, 46-39, a minute later.  

With 4:30 left in the third, Suffolk matched ever bucket Regis banked to remain in front, 52-42. 

In the final frame, Suffolk distanced themselves even more and Marissa Gudauskas' third triple of the day gave the blue-and-gold its largest lead, 61-48, with 5:52 left on the clock.  

The Pride attempted yet another comeback, but the Rams locked things up from the line to remain unbeaten in conference contests.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Hackett had a monster night with 21 points and 19 rebounds with five helpers and three blocks. Her offensive output was behind an 8-for-14 showing from the floor. 
• Gudauskas contributed 17 points on a 50 percent (5-10) connection rate from the field, 3-for-5 effort from three-point land and the senior did not miss at the charity stripe (4-4). The guard added two boards, two steals and one helper. 
• Jenni-Rose DiCecco rounded out the trio of Rams in double figures with 16 points to go along with two caroms, two assists and two steals. 
• Suffolk shot 42.4 percent (25-59) from the floor, 30.0 percent (6-20) from behind-the-arc and 66.7 percent (14-21) from the free throw line. 
• The Pride outrebounded the Rams, 42-40.  

NOTEWORTHY

• Suffolk is off to a 5-0 league start for the second straight season. 
• The Rams ran their win streak to five, a season-best. 
• Hackett matched a career-high 19 rebounds, which are the most for a Ram in a single game according to Suffolk's game-by-game record book, which dates through the 2010-11 season. 
• Samari Winklaar notched a personal-best two points.
• Emily Welling matched a career-high two steals.
