DiCecco Collects GNAC Player of the Week

BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball's Jenni-Rose DiCecco was named GNAC Player of the Week after putting together 22.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 5.0 apg and 4.0 spg in a 2-0 week for the Rams, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

DiCecco has been Suffolk's catalyst this season, which has helped Suffolk notch a 7-3 record and go unbeaten through December thus far with a three-game win streak to its credit. She is the first Suffolk player to be recognized by the conference for her effort over a seven-day stretch this season.

Last week was no exception as the floor general posted back-to-back 20-plus point games. In a thrilling 74-71 victory over Fitchburg State, DiCecco led the way with a double-double effort of 22 points, and a career-high 12 rebounds to go with six steals, five handouts and one block. Two days later in a 76-63 win against Framingham State, the Falmouth, Massachusetts, product produced 23 points, six caroms, five dimes and a pair of steals.

Overall this season, DiCecco has yet to miss the double digit point column through the 10 contests to anchor the Rams' offense with 18.5 ppg on a 39.4 connection rate from the floor and a 30.1 percent showing from downtown. She also sets up multiple shots for Suffolk, leading the way with 4.3 apg. Her offense translates to defense as well, as the 5-foot-6 guard grabs 6.8 rpg, good for second on the squad, and is pacing the pack in steals with 2.5 spg to her credit.

DiCeco and the Rams cap off first semester action tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 11 when they visit Clark for a 7 p.m. tilt.
