BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball looks to waste no time to return to the win column as the Rams return to action when they open a three-game homestand Saturday, Jan. 28 as Saint Joseph (Conn.) stops by Regan Gymnasium for a 1 p.m. contest.

DOUBLE FEATURE
For the final time this season the Suffolk men's and women's basketball teams will host a doubleheader at Regan Gymnasium. The women's squad gets the action underway at 1 p.m. against Saint Joseph (Conn.) with the men's team hosting Anna Maria in the closer at 3:15 p.m.
Overall, the women are 2-1 when playing on the same day as the men on the Larry and Michael Smith Court, while the men boast a 1-2 ledger on double feature home game days.
LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's basketball team faced its toughest opponent yet in the New Year with its eight-game win streak on the line at Johnson & Wales Thursday night and the Wildcats forced 17 Rams' turnovers to stop the blue-and-gold winning ways, 54-49, inside the Wildcat Center.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk's best second-semester opening win streak in over a decade came to a screeching halt Thursday night with a 54-49 setback at Johnson & Wales that put the Rams at 13-6 on the season and 8-2 against conference competition.
Despite the setback, the Rams' offense is still the third-best in the league with 67.8 ppg. The well-balanced scoring is paced by the duo of Kelsey Scheibel and Georgia Bourikas with the seniors providing 10.6 ppg and 10.1 ppg, respectively.
On the defensive side of the ball, Suffolk produces the conference's best caroms per outing with 46.9 and an 8.7 margin over its opponents. Katelyn Rourke is the main ingredient to the Rams' success on the glass with the rookie recording 7.5 rpg with Caitlyn Caramello contributing 7.2 rpg to the effort.
BREAKING DOWN THE BLUE JAYS
St. Joseph slipped up in a close call, 68-63, decision to Rivier to drop its third straight that put the Blue Jays at 7-10 on the year and 2-7 in league play.
The Blue Jays 62.1 ppg, which falls in the middle of the GNAC pack, is due in large part to the trio of players recording double figures. Carlee Putnam leads the way with 15.6 ppg with Kayla Guest's 13.7 ppg falling second on the squad and Rajeen Mayo rounding out the threesome with 13.2 ppg.
Guest has helped USJ stay in nearly every game with 7.2 rpg that paces the Blue Jays' 39.5 rpg performance. Dhimitra Hatika and Elisha Pertillar add 5.6 rpg and 5.1 rpg, respectively, to the effort.
WE MEET AGAIN
The Suffolk women's basketball team knocked off its then-second straight opponent as the Rams took down St. Joseph (Conn.), 66-46, Jan. 8 at Brunelli Court.

INSIDE THE SERIES
With its win over the Blue Jays Jan. 8, Suffolk has rattled off 11 straight victories over USJ to hold a commanding 18-2 in the all-time series dating back to 1997.

JOINING THE ELITE
Thursday night Kelsey Schiebel joined an elite group of Rams with her 100th career appearance in blue-and-gold. Schiebel is now one of 16 Suffolk women's basketball players to take the hardwood in 100 games.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Since November 28 the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week has donned Suffolk blue-and-gold with Alexis Hackett earning five honors, including four straight, and Katelyn Rourke picking up the nod twice, Dec. 5 and Jan. 23.
BEST ROOK IN NEW ENGLAND
After collecting her fifth GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week nod this season, Suffolk women's basketball's Alexis Hackett earned another recognition as the NEWBA named her Rookie of the Week, the association announced Monday afternoon.
