BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball team closes its non-conference slate Tuesday, Feb. 2 as it hosts UMass Boston at Regan Gymnasium. The Rams and Beacons are slated for a 7 p.m. tilt.

LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Caitlyn Caramello's career night pushed the Suffolk women's basketball team past Anna Maria, 73-45, in GNAC action at Regan Gymnasium Thursday night. 

Caramello went 6-of-8 from the floor and at the line to tally a game-high 18 points. In addition to her career-high points and shooting percentage, the Revere, Masscahusetts product produced a career-first four dimes and matched her best number in steals with two takeaways. The 5-foot-8 forward led a trio of Rams in double figures as Chelsea Camepllone and junior Georgia Bourikas provided 15 and 12, respectively. Campellone matched a career-high of her own as the senior forward grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds to register her eighth double-double effort of the season. 

As a team, Suffolk shot 35.6 percent from the floor, 71.1 percent from the line and outrebounded Anna Maria, 54-46. The Rams alos held a slim advantage in points in the paint, 24-22, and capitalized off turnovers (16-10) and second chances (11-9).

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS

• Suffolk remained in the win column for its second straight victory January 27 as it took down Anna Maria, 73-45, to improve to 11-7 on the year and 3-2 against GNAC opponents. Eight of the Rams 11 victories have come in the friendly confines of Regan Gymnasium.
• The Rams post the sixth-best offense in the GNAC with 66.1 points per game with two players contributing double figures. Chelsea Campellone paces the pack as the senior scores the eight-best points per outing (14.8) off a 41.7 connection rate, which ranks 16th in the conference. Classmate Alessandra Quadri sits second on the team with 10.8 points per contest.
• Suffolk tops the GNAC in on the defensive side of the hardwood as the Rams pull down 47.7 rebounds per game, including 32.8 defensive boards, which both lead the GNAC. Campellone leads the way on the glass with 10.4 boards per game, which lands third amongst conference competitors.

'BOUT THE BEACONS

• UMass Boston is coming off a 75-59 set-back at Keene State Saturday, a loss that dropped the Beacons to 10-9 overall.
• Senior forward Olivia Murphy leads the Beacons with 16.8 points per game and paces the pack with 13.0 boards per outing. Grace Grary is close behind with 14.1 points per contest.

HOME SWEET HOME
Suffolk is 8-3 when playing under the lights of Regan Gymnasium, averaging 69.8 points and 52.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 37.9 (272-718) on the Larry E. Smith and Michael S. Smith floor. Beyond the arc the Rams put up a 33.9 connection rate (58-171) and shoot 66.1 percent (166-251) from the line in front of the home crowd.

Chelsea Campellone averages a double-double (19.2 ppg, 12.2 rpg) in the friendly confines of Regan, while Alessandra Quadri (10.9) and Georgia Bourikas (10.0) also notch double figures.

Suffolk stops by Johnson & Wales Thursday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m., before hosting Norwich Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.
