BOSTON – The Suffolk women's basketball team will open up the new year with a Monday night matchup against Worcester State at 5:30 p.m. inside Regan  Gymnasium.

LAST TIME OUT
Alessandra Quadri shot lights out to put the Suffolk women's basketball team in a good spot for a comeback, but Springfield did not let up as the Rams fell to the Pride, 74-71, December 14 inside Regan Gymnasium.

Quadri put up a 10-of-22 performance from the floor, but more impressively the senior guard shot 6-of-7 from beyond-the-arc for a career-high 30 points. Quadri pulled down 11 boards for a double-double effort and added two assists and a steal to her stat line. Georgia Bourikas joined Quadri in double figures with 14 points on a 6-o-f14 performance from the field and went 2-of-2 from deep. The junior also grabbed seven boards and dished out three helpers.

HOME SWEET HOME
Suffolk, who is in the middle of a five-game homestand, is 4-2 when playing under the lights of Regan Gymnasium, averaging 66.2 points and 49.8 per game, while shooting 35.4 percent (136-384) on the Larry E. Smith and Michael S. Smith floor. Beyond the arc the Rams putting up a 32.2 connection rate (96-135) and shooting 71.1 percent (102-197)  from the line in front of the home crowd.

Chelsea Campellone averages a double-double (17.2 ppg, 12.2 rpg) in the friendly confines of Regan, while Alessandra Quadri also notches double figures with 13.3 ppg.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS

• Suffolk concluded 2015 6-4 overall, its best start since going 7-3 through the first semester in 2012. Four of the Rams six victories have come at Regan Gymnasium.
• Chelsea Campellone and Alessandra Quadri have made impact so far in their final season in blue-and-gold as the seniors have been the Rams' offensive threats this season. Campellone leads the team with 13.2 ppg with Quadri's 12.5 ppg falling closely in second.   
• Campellone has also contributed on the glass for Suffolk as she contributed 10.3 rebounds to the Rams' 46.7 rebounds per outing, which ranks third-best among GNAC schools.

LOWDOWN ON THE LANCERS

• Worcester State is currently in a four-game slump, dropping all of its contests in December. The last time the Lancers notched a tally in the win column was a 70-63 triumph over GNAC member, the University of Saint Joseph November 24.
• Britt Herring is the lone Lancer averaging double figures with 11.3 ppg. The freshman center adds 8.5 rpg. Brianna Hackett is nearly in double digits with 9.9 ppg, while Kaitlyn Berkel, who paces Worcester State on the boards with 9.2 rpg, is third on the team in points at 9.1 ppg.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk stays at home as the Rams tip-off the first double-header of 2016 with a 6 p.m. date against Boston local Pine Manor Thursday, Jan. 7, before the men's team hosts GNAC rival Mount Ida at 8 p.m.
