BOSTON – Suffolk softball opens a stretch of 10 games over six days Monday, April 9 as the Rams welcome Lesley to East Boston Memorial Park for their home opener. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk softball team left The Green Mountain State with two GNAC wins as the Rams held off Norwich in the nightcap, 9-5, Sunday afternoon at Sabine Field to sweep the two-game series with the Cadets.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has been on a roll as of late, winning its last five games to improve to 10-6 on the season. 

McKenzie McGrath continues to make her presence known as the plate with the third baseman leading the way with a .450 average with 18 hits, seven RBI and 13 runs scored. Payton Sylvester holds team-bests in hits (22), RBI (10) and runs scored (15) behind a .449 batting average. Ashley Zulla joins the infielders as the everyday starting outfield also hits well over .400 at a .432 clip with 19 hits, seven RBI and 13 runs scored. 

Taylor Holmes has been a consistent threat inside the circle for Suffolk this season. The senior RHP owns an unbeaten mark of 4-0 in each of her four starts. Through 26.2 innings, she has three complete games, one shutout, for a staff-best 1.31 ERA and a team-high 22 strikeouts. Ali Yamakaitis has also sat down 22 batters, while Payton Sylvester is also a go-to on the rubber with an ERA of 2.91 in two starts and 21.2 frames of work with 11 Ks.

LYNX LOOK
After having its doubleheader at Suffolk postponed on Saturday, Lesley took swept Becker in a two-game series Sunday to improve to 10-4 on the season. 

Jordan Day is potent at the plate for the link as the rookie brings in a slash line of .622/.660/1.089 with 28 hits, 14 for extra bases including 10 doubles for 18 RBI and 15 runs scored. Ashleigh Acker brings in a .435 average with 17 hits, 15 RBI and 17 runs to her credit. 

Day also excels for Lesley inside the circle holding down a team-best 3.23 ERA with five starts, 13 appearances and 85 strikeouts in 73.2­­ innings.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk rattled off seven consecutive victories to open the series with Lesley, but the Lynx blanked the Rams in the last meeting, April 24, 2013, 8-0, in five innings to make it a 7-1 series in favor of the blue-and-gold.
