Csiki-Fejer Collects Fourth GNAC Runner of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Matyas Csiki-Fejer of the Suffolk men's cross country team picked up his fourth GNAC Runner of the Week nod after a Top 20 finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals Saturday, the league office unveiled Monday afternoon.

The four weekly honors are the most by an individual since Johnson & Wales' Adam Sachs was named the best runner over a seven day stretch five times. The Manchester, Missouri, native is the first Ram to be recognized as the league's top runner of the week for four times in the conference's record books, which date back to the 2014 season. In just two seasons at Suffolk, Csiki-Fejer has collected eight weekly honors: five runner of the week and three rookie of the week.

Csiki-Fejer's fourth and final honor of 2019 came after he led all league runners at regionals with a 19th-place performance. He clocked in a sub-26:00.0 8K time of 25:29.5 with a 5:07.7 average mile. For his performance in Brunswick, Maine, he was selected to the NCAA Division III Championships, where he will wrap up his standout sophomore season this Saturday, Nov. 23 in Louisville, Kentucky.
