Csiki-Fejer Captures Crown, Men’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Suffolk Invitational

BOSTON – Matyas Csiki-Fejer continued his stellar sophomore season at the Suffolk Invitational with an individual title to pace Suffolk men's cross country to a sixth-place showing Saturday afternoon at Franklin Park.  

Csiki-Fejer was the first of 245 runners to come through the finisher's chute as he completed the 8K course in 26:03.7 a narrow margin ahead of Southern Maine's Yahya Nure, who clocked in at 26:09.6. 

Cole Bolduc took 37th with a time of 28:10.2 with Elijah Dillon crossing the tape just nine seconds later to claim 47th. Hunter Toyoda was also in the top 50 with a 28:26.0 showing. Joseph Robinson (29:20.2)'s 67th finish aided to the Rams' team score of 191, good for sixth overall out of 24 teams, including six league foes on the course.  

In the GNAC race, Colby Sawyer finished ahead of the conference counterparts with Suffolk sliding into second. Overall, Southern Maine won the team title with 47 points. 

Nic Malm (29:33.7) and Arthur Lacerda (29:44.5) also ran in Jamaica Plain.  

Suffolk will now concentrate on the 2019 GNAC Championships, which are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2 at the SJC Course in Standish, Maine.
