Men’s Cross Country Heads to 22nd James Earley Invitational


BOSTON – The Suffolk men's cross county team heads west this weekend to race at the 22nd James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State. The 8k race is set for an 11:15 p.m. start.

THE COMPETITION
The field features 43 New England schools. Joining Suffolk on the course is Amherst, Bridgewater St, Clark, Colby Sawyer, Dean, Eastern Conn State, Eastern Nazarene, Elms, Emerson, Endicott, Fitchburg State, Framingham State, Gordon, Hudson Valley Community College, Lesley, Mass Liberal Arts, Mass Maritime, Mitch, New England College, Nichols, Northern Essex, Norwich, Plymouth State, Purchase, Regis, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams, Sage, Saint Rose, Siena, Springfield Tech, St. Anselm, St. Michael's, Suffolk Community College, Trinity, UNE, UMass Dartmouth, Vermont Tech, Western NE, Westfield State, Williams and Worcester State.

THE COURSE
The start and finish are on the flat, grassy, upper section of the park with the middle of each race taking runners on dirt roads and wood chip trails in the beautiful Wildlife Refuge portion of Stanley Park. Hilly, wood trails connect the two areas.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's cross country team took the course at the Keene State Invitational Saturday. The Rams finished the 8k race by an average time 35:13.3 to take ninth overall.
