BOSTON – For the second straight meet, David Campisano paced the Suffolk men's cross team, leading the Rams to a 17th place finish at the Saints Invitational at Franklin Park hosted by Emmanuel Friday afternoon.
Campisano, a junior from Norwood, Massachusetts, led Suffolk's pack. He crossed the tape in 29:20 for 63rd overall out of 192 runners. Paulo Guedes also had a sub-30 time, finishing in 29:42 to take 77th overall.
Freshman Ruben Torres finished 154th altering running the 8k course in 35:33. Classmate Stephen Smart (161 - 36:21), Michael Rotchford (176 - 39:45) and Matthew Garrison (192-1:00:40) also raced for Suffolk Friday.
The Rams' six runners combined for 521 points to take 17th overall, while GNAC counterpart Norwich won the meet with an average time of 26:40.40. The invitational also served as a head-to-head match with Rivier. Suffolk shined against the Raiders, defeating Rivier, 521-594. Overall, the Raiders placed 22nd in a field of 23.
With its final prep before championship season in the books, Suffolk sets its sights on the GNAC Crown Saturday, Oct. 29 . The men will take the course at 2 p.m.
