The Suffolk University Men's Cross-Country team placed fifth in the Lt. Travis J. Fuller Inviational hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday afternoon. The Rams finished with 142 team points in the nine team 8K race. Two Suffolk runners placed among the 25 placements in the field. Senior Mohammed Hayibour (Dakar, Senegal) had the best Suffolk time as he placed 16th with a time of 31:42. Freshman Nathan Pemberton (Holbrook, Mass.). Finished the field for the Rams were junior Eric Ramirez (Natick, Mass.) with a time of 35:54, senior Carlos Barbosa (Dorchester, Mass.) at 36:24 and sophomore Eddie Lui (Boston, Mass.) at 37:59.
On the women's side three Suffolk runners finished the race as the Rams did not qualify for a team score. Senior Bridget Evangelista (Newburyport, Mass.) finished with the best time for Suffolk as she placed 19th overall completing the 5K race in a time of 22:59. Junior Kelly Warwick (Newburyport, Mass.) and senior Nicole Beerman (Olympia, Wash.) were the other two Suffolk runners. Warwick recorded a time of 25:46 while Beerman finished at 26:10.
Suffolk will be back in action on Friday afternoon as they head to Rivier University for the Raiders' Invitational in Nashua, N.H.
