Matt Sidney embarked on his first season as an assistant on Will Feldman’s staff in 2019-20 and begins year two in 2020-21. Sidney strengthens the staff, working specifically with the jumpers.  

With Sidney on staff, Feldman’s Rams captured the inaugural indoor GNAC Championships on the men’s side and finished as runners up as the women’s squad. Suffolk’s jumpers were headlined by sophomore Robert Solari, who captured the GNAC crown in the high jump. 

Academically, Suffolk’s success was shown as both the men’s and women’s teams each picked up USTFCCCA Academic Team honors for achieving a combined 3.30 GPA in 2019-20. 

Before arriving on Beacon Hill, Sidney started building his coaching resume as part of the Catholic Memorial High School track program. His responsibilities were centered around the jumpers. 

Sidney’s coaching career began as a volunteer assistant at Boston College where he aided to the development of intermediate sprinters, hurdles and jumpers. 

The Canton, Massachusetts native graduated from Villanova in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. With the Wildcats, Sidney competed in the high jump and long jump earning All-Big East honors during the 2012 and 2015 outdoor seasons, respectively.
