Csiki-Fejer Repeats at GNAC Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – For the second time in as many weeks as the Suffolk men's outdoor track & field team has been active this season, Maytas Csiki-Fejer has been recognized by the conference as the GNAC Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Csiki-Fejer won the 800-meter dash twice, at the Regis Spring Classic April 5 and again the following day at Fitchburg State's Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational.

To open the weekend, the Saint Louis, Missouri, native put together a sub 2:00.0 time, crossing the tape in 1:59.80 to top the 31-runner field. His performance anchored Suffolk's fourth-place team finish.

At Fitchburg State, he once again finished first this time out of 28 competitors, thanks to a time of 2:00.05.

Csiki-Fejer, who became the first-ever Ram to be recognized for their efforts over a seven-day stretch in outdoor track & field, now has two awards to his resume in his collegiate career and in his freshman campaign.

Suffolk and Csiki-Fejer will be back in action this weekend with a pair of meets on the docket, Brown's Ocean State Invitational Friday, April 12 and SNHU's Penman Relays the next day, Saturday, April 13.
