Csiki-Fejer Competes at NCAA DIII Men’s New England Regionals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Matyas Csiki-Fejer became the first-ever member of the Suffolk men's indoor track & field team to compete at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships as the freshman ran this weekend at the event hosted by MIT at the Johnson Athletic Center.

Csiki-Fejer, who has already written his name in multiple Rams' record spots across cross country and the men's indoor track & field annals, was the first Suffolk male student-athlete to compete in the regional indoor event in the program's two-year history.

The St. Louis, Missouri native took the 20-runner mile field and clocked in at 4:22.43 to finish 11th overall. His place just outside the top 10 was the third-best finish by a first-year runner in the event.

Csiki-Fejer entered the weekend ranked 17th in New England in the mile. Top 20 athletes in each event on March 3 are invited to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships. Csiki-Fejer may race next weekend at the Tufts Final Qualifier, which marks the final competition of the 2018-19 indoor seasons before the national championships, which will take place March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
