Matthew Tiberii enters his third campaign with the Rams as Associate Head Coach of the men's team and Head Coach of the women's program in 2019-20.

In 2018 the Rams men fell short of the playoff field, going 1-2 in conference contests and finished the season 6-7 overall. Despite the team’s outcome, Ariel Ilarslan Russo shined in his first season in blue-and-gold as a signature atop Suffolk’s line-up he went unbeaten 8-0 and 3-0 against conference competitors to collect GNAC Rookie of the Year honors to go along with a singles first-team nod. Teammate Mike DeFelice was also awarded for his singles play, earning second-team status.

On the women's side, Tiberii helped the women to their 11th straight appearance in the GNAC Tournament and fifth consecutive final four appearance with a 3-3 league ledger. The Rams fell in the semis to complete Tiberii’s first season as head coach 8-7. Delaney Dunlap became the first student-athlete in the Tiberri era to collect all-league honors, earning a spot on the singles first team.

In his second season the men narrowly missed the playoff field after producing just one win (1-4) versus conference counterparts and going 3-11 on the year. The women, meanwhile, were led by frsehman Ilda Ascic, who anchored Suffolk to its 12th GNAC Tournament appearance after going 3-4 against conference competition. Ascic and the Rams fell to Regis, 5-1, in teh quarterfinals to the end the season 5-9 overall. Ascic was recognzied for her stand-out freshman camapign with second-place all-league singles honors. The men, meanwhile, narrowly missed the playoff field after producing a just one win (1-4) versys conference counterparts and going 3-11 on the year. 

Suffolk has provided Tiberii with his first collegiate head coaching opportunity in the fall of 2017 as he was appointed Interim Head Coach of the Rams, after more than 20-plus years of tennis pro experience. Currently, he works as a Tennis Professional for North Reading Parks and Recreation Department, where he has been for the past 20 years. His experience also includes stops as a Tennis Director at the Resorts North Country Club, Austin Preparatory School, Woburn Racquet Club and The Marcus Lewis Tennis Club.

Tiberii, who resides in North Reading, Massachusetts, received his degree from the American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts, and continued his education at Salem State.
