WINTHROP, Mass. – Suffolk men's tennis has been pegged to take fifth in the GNAC Preseason Poll in a vote conducted by the conference's eight head coaches, the league unveiled Friday afternoon.
Eastern Nazarene in a unanimous favorite for the second straight season. The reigning conference champs grabbed all eight first-place votes to top the poll with 64 points.
Suffolk slid into fifth place with 26 points, two ahead of Norwich with Albertus Magnus (14) and league newcomer Lesley (9) wrapping up the predictions.
In between the Lions and Rams were Johnson & Wales (47), Colby Sawyer (39) and Regis (37).
Five student-athletes are back from last season's squad that went 3-11 overall and 1-4 against conference counterparts.
Suffolk's first serve of 2020 is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 against Albertus Magnus. That showdown duals as the Rams league opener as well.
