Bridgewater State Upends Men’s Tennis

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Suffolk men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback to Bridgewater State at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts Thursday afternoon.  

THE BASICS 
SCORE: Suffolk 2, Bridgewater State 7
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-6) | Bridgewater State (2-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Bridgewater State got on the board with back-to-back doubles decisions on courts three and one, respectively. Suffolk's second pair of Nick Vaillancourt and Davis Altimonte cut the Bear's lead in half, however, as the freshman pair downed Jeff Pavao and Colin Lamusta, 8-6.

Bridgewater State began to pull away by taking courts five, six, and one to seal the win.  

With the match already clinched to the Bears, Vaiilancourt bested Jeff Paivo 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 on court two for the final 7-2 margin. 

NOTEWORTHY

  • Nick Vaillancourt earned his second singles victory of the season, tied for best on the team, with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win over Jeff Pavao.
