BOSTON - Falling just short of its third win of the season, the Suffolk men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision to Bridgewater State in the Rams' first road match of the 2016 campaign at the Dr. Henry Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

Suffolk opened up the contest with an 8-4 win in doubles as the pair of Francesco Saia and Alonso Vela took down the Bears' Matt McGee and Michael Delisle, earning their third victory of the year, before Bridgewater went on to take the second and third sets.

The Rams and Bears split the six sets in singles play with each team notching three wins. Vela, Chris Parnagian and Rami Esrawi all recorded victories for Suffolk in their respective sets marking the third wins of the season for Vela and Parnagain and the first of the year for Esrawi.

The loss put the Rams at 2-4 on the season while Bridgewater improved to 3-4. Suffolk will return to action next Wednesday evening as it hosts its final home match of the regular season at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols against UMass Dartmouth.
