The Suffolk University Men's Tennis team captured the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) North Division Title with a 5-3 victory over Emerson College on Thursday evening.

Suffolk took a pair of doubles victories and then clinched things with three more wins in singles play. With their victory Suffolk will now take on Ramapo College on Saturday in the newly revised playoff format.

Sophomore Calixto Romero (Peru) took a pair of victories on the evening. His first came in doubles play as he and junior Drew Reilly (Boston, Mass.) were 8-4 winners in the second doubles contest. Romero later earned a 6-4 tiebreaker win in the number two singles position.

Reilly was also victorious on both ends of the court with a 6-1 victory in the  third set of the number four individual contest.

Junior Vassili Stroganov (Hoersholm, Germany) picked up his team leading ninth victory in singles play with 6-3, 6-4 set wins in the number six singles match to round out the individual contests.

Sophomore Marc Winkler (Caracas, Venezuela) and senior Aaron Lau (Hong Kong, China) partnered for an 8-5 win in the top doubles contest.
