Tucker Grabs CCC Player of the Week

BOSTON – Jackson Tucker made the most out of his Suffolk men's hockey debut with a hat trick in a 3-0 shutout over Becker to claim Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week accolades, the league announced Monday.

Tucker joined the Rams at the semester break and led the blue-and-gold to their first victory since Nov. 27, a 5-1 win over SNHU. The sophomore forward potted all three of Suffolk's goals in its 3-0 triumph at Becker Saturday night to claim the conference's best player nod. He is the first player to put away three markers in one contest since Stanton Turner turned in a three-goal game versus the Hawks in a 7-2 win over Becker Nov. 11, 2014.

The Matthews, North Carolina, product is just the second Ram to earn the player of the week recognition this season with Tommy Bishop taking home the first-ever CCC Men's Hockey Player of the Week Oct. 31 thanks to a career-opening night (2g, 2a) for Tucker's classmate.

Tucker and the Rams will drop the puck in front of their home crowd for the first time in 2017 Thursday, Jan. 27 when Suffolk entertains Salve Regina at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Rink in Charlestown. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
