BOSTON – The Suffolk men's hockey team makes the trip to Biddeford, Maine, Thursday, Dec. 1 for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest at the University of New England. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's hockey team snapped its four-game skid Sunday afternoon as the Rams defeated Southern New Hampshire, 5-1, in the consolation contest of the 23rd Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Tournament at the Ice Den Arena.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk improved to 3-5-1 on the year thanks to its 5-1 win over SNHU. The Rams return to conference play after a three-game break with its last CCC outing ending a 3-2 setback to Endicott to sit at 1-4-1 against league competition. 

Sophomore Tommy Bishop's seven points on a team-high five goals and seven handouts lead Suffolk's 28-goal offense. Classmate Justin Holliday (5-2-7) and senior Danyil Medvedev (4-3-7) each have seven points to sit second on the squad.   

All three of Suffolk's netminders have seen action this season with Michael Levine playing the majority of the Rams contest. The sophomore goal is 2-3-2 in net with 240 saves (.909) and 24 goals allowed (3.3.1GAA). Senior Kevin Venturoso, meanwhile, sits 1-2-0 on the season with 83 stops (.902) and has given up nine scores (3.54 GAA). 

NOR'EASTER NOTES
New England carries a 3-3-1 overall record and 3-2-1 CCC ledger into Thursday night. The Nor'easters are unbeaten at home, 3-0-1. 

Brady Feluerent leads New England's offense with the second-most points in the CCC as the sophomore forward has 13 on six goals and seven assists. Armand Uomoleale also adds double figure points to the Nor'easters offense with 10 on five goals and five handouts.

Three different goalies have seen action this season for New England. In four appearances and three starts Connor Maloney holds a 1-2-1 record with 75 saves (.852) and 13 goals allowed (3.59). Joe Noonan has proved to be the Nor'easters most successful netminder with a 2-1-0 record on 80 saves (.920) and seven goals allowed (2.36 GAA). Tate Sproxton has also seen action in between the pipes this season.

THE SERIES
The series between Suffolk and the University of New England is fairly new, dating back to 2011-12, with the Nor'easters capturing both victories. 

EYES ON THE GAME

SHORT-HANDED
Luke Miller's first goal of the season came in short-handed fashion at Western New England Nov. 10. The junior forward is the first Ram to net a man-down score since Justin Selep '16 put one away in a 5-2 win at Nichols Jan. 16, 2016. 

CCC FROZEN FIRST
Simon Leahy's first goal of the season turned out to be a historic one as the senior from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was the first player across the CCC to find the back of the netting on the inaugural night of play for the first-year league. Since the tally was on the power play, he added to the historics, as the forward also became the first CCC skater to put one away on the man advantage opportunity. 

CCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tommy Bishop of the Suffolk men's hockey team will go down in history as the first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week as the sophomore grabbed the initial award of the inaugural season after a career opening night, the conference office announced Oct. 31.
