CHARLESTOWN, Mass. – The Suffolk men's hockey team took a 3-1 lead into the final regulation period, but consecutive Stonehill scores in the third stalemated the Rams into overtime for the second time this season, which eventually ended in a 3-3 tie at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk gained a 1-0 advantage in the first thanks to a score by Justin Holliday. The team's traded power play goes in the second before David Lappin put away his first collegiate goal, also with a man-up to give the Rams a two-goal edge on again headed into the second intermission.
The Skyhawks scored two goals over the course of five minutes to level the playing field, 3-3, with 10:05 to go in the third, but neither team scored through the end of regulation or over the extra five minutes to seal the 3-3 draw.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- The Skyhawks outshot the Rams, 31-30, 14 of which came over the final 25 minutes of action.
GOALS
- Holliday made it a 1-0 Suffolk game the 11:03 marker into the contest with feeds from Stanton Turner and Brendan Heinze.
- Danyil Medvedev pushed the Rams' lead to two just 2:11 into the second frame thanks to set ups from David Lappin and LJ Fellows.
- Brian Higgins put Stonehill on the board with 6:08 remaining in the period. Cameron Wright and Evan Jacques assisted on the Skyhawks first goal of the evening.
- Three minutes later Lappin potted his first puck in the netting in his collegiate career to hold the two goal cushion for the hosts. Mikhail Bryan and Tommy Bishop assisted on the score.
- Trailing 3-1, Ryan Smith sliced the margin in half 3:56 into the stanza with his first collegiate tally on a feed from Jack Scannell.
- Jacques provided the equalizer with 10:01 to play in regulation when he found the top left corner of the net on a breakaway for his sixth goal of the season.

- Michael Levine made 28 saves in the draw for Suffolk.
- Billy Palmer collected 27 stops on the night for Stonehill.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk and Stonehill tied for the first-time ever in the team's all-time series dating back to 1999.
- Danyil Medvedev is on a three-game point streak with the senior totaling four points (3 goals, one assist) through the past three games.

After the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Suffolk heads to Hooksett, New Hampshire, for the Manchester PAL Cup hosted by SNHU. The Rams will take on fellow Bay State rival UMass Dartmouth in the first round Saturday, Nov. 26 with the winner advancing to the championship the following day versus the winner of SNHU and UMass Johnson & Wales. The two losing teams will face off in the consolation game Sunday, Nov. 27.
