Ice Hockey Picked Seventh in ECAC Northeast Preseason Poll

ECAC Release

DANBURY, Conn. – The 2015 Suffolk hockey team was selected to finish seventh in the ECAC Northeast Hockey league, as determined by a poll of the league's head coaches the conference announced Friday afternoon.

The Rams, who earned 28 points, were pegged to finish ahead of Western New England (22) and Becker (10). For the second-consecutive season, Nichols College has been tabbed the preseason favorite as the Bison received six first-place votes and three second-places nods for 78 total points. Last year's runners-up, Salve Regina, came second in the poll with 67 points, which included one first place vote. Johnson & Wales and Endicott also garnered a first-place vote, with the Wildcats placing third and the Gulls finishing fourth.

Under the leadership of 12-year head coach Chris Glionna, Suffolk will open the 2015 season at the Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink Halloween night in #HallowFaceOff against Assumption at 7 p.m.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the 2015-16 Suffolk hockey team tomorrow night in the annual Blue-and-Gold Game. Warm-ups will begin at 7 p.m. with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
