Freshman Alan Boozer (Detroit, Mich.) converted on a penalty shot in the overtime period to lift the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats to a 3-2 victory over Suffolk University in ECAC Northeast Hockey action on Saturday evening at Steriti Memorial Rink in Boston's North End.

Suffolk erased a two-goal third period deficit striking twice in the final period to send the game into the extra period.

Sophomore Stanton Turner (San Francisco, Calif.) scored Suffolk's first goal as he took a feed from across the crease to put in his seventh goal of the year. Turner took feeds from linemates sophomore Simon Leahy (Milwaukee, Wis.) and freshman Jack Jenkins (Billerica, Mass.) on the goal.

With nineteen seconds remaining in regulation, Suffolk would score the game tying goal after pulling their goalie less than half a minute earlier to send the game into overtime. Sophomore Danyil Medvedev (Boston, Mass.) evened things up with his fifth goal of the year.

Johnson & Wales was able to build an early lead as they scored a goal in each of the first two period, both on the power-play.

Sophomore Stefan Brucato (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) opened the scoring nearly eight minutes into the contest as he tally with the extra man came from  sophomore Matt Lanzillotti (Chicago, Ill.) and junior Cody Sarmiento (Sarasota, Fla.).

The same trio would put the Wildcats up a pair in the second period as Lanzillotti scored his fourth goal of the season midway through the period. Sarmiento would collect his second assist of the evening on the power-play goal as Brucato also added an assist on the play.

With 2:15 remaining on the clock a tripping call against Suffolk deep in their defensive zone would set Boozer up for the penalty shot. He would strike with a quick wrist shot in deep for his second game winning goal of the season.

Sophomore Joey Ballmer (Kalamazoo, Mich.) made a total of 31 saves in goal for the Wildcats in the victory.

Junior Brandon Smolarek (Chesterfield, Mich.) pushed a side a total of 40 shots in the game for Suffolk.
