Men’s Golf Opens Spring Schedule at RIC Invitational

WARWICK, R.I. – Suffolk men's golf made its 2019 spring season debut over the weekend when the Rams competed at the RIC Invitational at the Valley Country Club. 

The blue-and-gold carded a team score of 658 over the two-day event, which is hosted by Rhode Island College and opens the three-tournament Spring Series. Suffolk's score put the Rams in eighth place in the 14-team field. Fellow GNAC foes Johnson & Wales topped the team's field with a combined score of 627.  

Individually, Demetrois Stamoulis was the stand-out Suffolk golfer. The golfer finished in a tie for ninth after cutting one stroke off his day one score of 79 with a day-two outing of 78 to finish with a total of 157. 

Out of the fifth spot, Brian Dunleavy finished second in the Rams' lineup with a 165, good for a tie for 34th.  

Andrew Harper and Stephen Ferrante shared 44th as the junior and senior each shot a 168.  

Owen Boggini rounded out the Rams on the course with a 176, good for a tie for 57th.  

In the midst of its spring schedule, Suffolk returns to the fairway next weekend for the two-day Wildcats Spring Invitational at the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, Rhode Island.
