Men’s Golf Tees Off 2017 at EC Saints Invite


BOSTON – The Suffolk men's golf team will step out on the course for the first time in 2017 Tuesday, Sept. 12 as the Rams tee off at the EC Saints Invitational at the George Wright Golf Course at 12 p.m.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk welcomes back a contingent of experience this season as nine Rams return to the lineup headline by junior Stephen Ferrante and sophomores Owen Boggini and Demetrois Stamoulis. Joining the veterans are three newcomers in Ethan Abitz, Williams Bannon and Alex Sarkis.

THE COURSE
George Wright Golf Course is a Donald Ross designed, public golf course in Hyde Park, Massachusetts that was opened in 1938 after receiving President Roosevelt's Workers Progress Administration (WPA) funding to complete construction.

THE COMPETITION
Four teams will compete Tuesday afternoon including GNAC member and invitational host, Emmanuel. Mitchell and Wentworth will also take the green alongside the Rams.

AT THE HELM
Ed McMellen enters his 15th season at the head of Suffolk's men's golf program.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk is set for its second quad match of the season Wednesday, Sept. 20 when the Rams will take the green at William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park for the Emmanuel Invitational featuring conference counterpart and hosts Saints as well as Elms and Fisher.
