Juron Adds Tobin to Coaching Staff

BOSTON – Jeff Juron has a new addition on the bench this season as the five-year head coach added Denis Tobin to the coaching ranks as a graduate assistant for the 2019-20 season.

Tobin traded his sneakers for a whistle as Juron gave him his first collegiate coaching job after competing on the hardwood for four years at Clark. He appeared in 38 games from 2015-19 with the Cougars, however, it was his leadership style off the court that helped the shooting guard have a standout career.  In addition to serving as captain for the 2018-19 campaign, he assisted the coaching staff with scouting reports, film breakdowns and tours. Additionally, he encompassed the definition of a student-athlete to be committed to his team, while being connected to his studies in political science to be recognized with the 2019 NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award.

"I'm thrilled to add Denis to our staff," Juron said. "As the son of coach, Denis grew up in gym's around the city and has developed a love for the game. His playing experience at Clark and his familiarity with New England basketball will serve our program well."

Tobin's coaching career began with the Rising Star Basketball School where he worked at various levels as a trainer and coach. There he developed a knack for one-on-one drill and skill building in addition to group lectures.

The Medway, Massachusetts, local established his playing roots at Catholic Memorial where he led the squad to the 2015 State Championship and three Catholic Conference crowns. Individually he garnered a pair of Catholic Conference All-Star nods and served as captain as a senior.

In addition to his responsibilities on Juron's staff, Tobin will work in Suffolk Athletic Department, while working on his Master's Degree in Administration of Higher Education.
