For the third time this season, Suffolk's basketball teams will partake in a double header. The women's squad gets the action going at 5 p.m. versus Albertus Magnus with the men's team hosting the Falcons in the nightcap at 7:15 p.m.

Both of the Rams' squads are 1-1 this season when playing the same day inside Regan Gymnasium with each team winning the last outing. The men's team defeated Norwich, 61-52, while the women turned in a thrilling 61-60 win against Johnson & Wales.

LAST TIME OUT

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk moved one game over .500 against conference competition Tuesday night when the Rams ran past Rivier, 79-45. At 3-3 in league action and 4-9 on the season Suffolk sits in sixth place in the GNAC standings.

Like their standing, the Rams offensive output of 66.5 ppg also lands sixth amongst GNAC schools with the team's individual leader, sophomore Steven DiPrizio (13.1 ppg) landing just outside the conference's top ten. Classmates Jim Djema and Michael Hagopian also produce double figures for Suffolk with 11.0 ppg and 10.7 ppg, respectively.

On the defensive side of things, the blue and gold is being outrebounded by its opponents by a 2.5 margin despite grabbing 33.3 rpg. DiPrizio's team-best 10.2 rpg ranks third amongst the conference.

FALCONS FACTS
Albertus Magnus, who is on a three-game win streak and unbeaten in 2017, is second in the standings at 5-1 in GNAC play and 9-3 overall. In the Falcons' last outing, they defeated Norwich, 85-57.

The league's top-ranked offense of 86.7 ppg is thanks to six different Falcons averaging double figures in points in Grant Ellis (21.7 ppg), Devin Coleman (17.2 ppg), Jaqhawn Walters (16.8 ppg), Shaquille Mitchell (13.2 ppg), Mason Jones (11.7 ppg) and Ryan Pittman (10.4 ppg).

Albertus Magnus' defensive is also among the top in the conference with its 42.4 rpg ranking second. The Falcons are outrebounding their opponents by a 4.2 margin with Walters leading the way with 11.3 rpg for a double-double average. Ellis is also a main ingredient on the glass for Albertus Magnus, grabbing 9.7 rpg.

THE SERIES
Suffolk has fallen to Albertus Magnus in the last eight meetings of the two teams in a series which started when the Rams joined the GNAC in 1999. The Falcons own the all-time series, 22-15.

WE MEET AGAIN
On Dec. 10, Suffolk trailed by 20 points at halftime at Albertus Magnus and stormed out of the locker room to pull within six of the Falcons. The hosts did not let the Rams get any closer, however, to hold on for the 81-74 GNAC victory.
