Re: Athletic Training Services at Suffolk University

Welcome to Suffolk University! I look forward to welcoming you and your teams to our campus for your upcoming sports competitions. As you are aware, Suffolk has several off-campus venues for our athletic teams. As a result, there will be limits on available services for our visiting teams.

There will be a licensed, certified athletic trainer available at all home competitions, usually one hour prior to the start of the contest. Modalities are not available at auxiliary competition sites. All sites will have water, cups, and ice available. On-campus events (basketball, volleyball) will have limited access to modalities. Please notify 24-hours in advance via e-mail to the Head Athletic Trainer Rick Cox at rcox2@suffolk.edu, or have student athletes provide a written note from your staff or a Team Physician.

Suffolk will tape and wrap visiting team's student-athletes. Please have your teams provide necessary supplies. E-mail the Head Athletic Trainer Rick Cox with special requests at rcox2@suffolk.edu

Non-collision sports teams at Suffolk University will not travel with an Athletic Trainer; however, they will travel with a stocked medical kit with emergency numbers and information inside. Thanks for taking care of our athletes, and please call or email if an athlete is injured.

Thank you for your cooperation,

Rick Cox
