Women’s Cross Country Remains Seventh in East in USTFCCCA Poll

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – For the third consecutive week, Suffolk women's cross country appeared seventh in the East in the U. S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Poll, the national organization unveiled.

The Rams remained in the same spot after their 12th-place performance at the Blugold Invite in Colfax, Wisconsin over the weekend against some of the best in the North Region in the nation.

Seventh is the highest regional rank the Rams have ever received in program history. The blue-and-gold has been featured in all, but one weekly regional poll by the USTFCCCA since emerging in the regional ranks in week 7 edition of the 2021 season. The Rams are the only CCC member to make the regional ranks this year.

The USTFCCCA Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strengths with current season results, when applicable, in determining a rank-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly regional ranking by the USTFCCAC began in 2010.

Suffolk has the next week off to prep for the annual Suffolk Invitational, which is on the calendar on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Franklin Park. The invite will also serve as a head-to-head between the Rams and their Beantown neighbor Emerson in the Battle for Boston Commons.
